Dr. Channappa Chandra spent his early adult years in his native India. Having served the greater Chattanooga community for the past 30 years, Dr. Chandra is a well known and beloved member of the medical community, and highly respected for his many years of orthopedic service as a general orthopedist, and joint replacement specialist. He currently serves as the Co-Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery for the University of Tennessee College of Medicine - Chattanooga.
Despite his many years of service, many of the residents he teaches, as well as his junior partners, have a hard time keeping up with his seemingly endless energy and exceptional work ethic. He is described as one of the most capable and experienced surgeons in our entire region. Dr. Chandra has also travelled and been invited for various visiting professorships across the US, Mexico, Costa Rica, India, and the United Kingdom.
