In order to provide a healthier workplace environment, effective immediately, OrthoSouth will no longer hire individuals who use tobacco or nicotine products in any form. OrthoSouth recognizes the importance of the health and well being of its staff members and the responsibility of maintaining a healthy and safe environment for patients and vendors alike. Individuals who are offered a potential employment position with OrthoSouth will be screened for illegal drug, alcohol, and/or tobacco/nicotine use as part of the pre-employment health screening. Individuals whose pre-employment health screening results are verified positive for illegal drugs, alcohol, and/or tobacco/nicotine use, and/or whose reference and/or background checks are verified unsatisfactory, will be disqualified from employment, and any job offer withdrawn. Individuals disqualified will be allowed to reapply for employment six (6) months from the date of the post-offer health screening. OrthSouth also maintains a separate drug and alcohol abuse policy applicable to all employees which is part of the company's employee manual.
